About The Biggest US Social Media Festival: South by Southwest SXSW

This March is social again: Since last week and until today South by Southwest 2011 takes place at Austin, Texas, which is the most important in terms of variety of topics and biggest festival with social media focus in the US. Emphasis is on the specialized events’ track for Music, Film und Interactive.

During the event a amount of new topics, information, and dialogue is shown at trade shows, conferences and discussions. Main attractions are countless panels, night talks, and parties. Accompanying exhibitions and competitions are organized additionally.

By the way: It is not a national American event against any expectation. Between 11 and 23 percent (Film festival) of the attendees are international and have visited SXSW (2010) from abroad, joined from – officially – 54 nations (Interactive track).
